How it is made

Printed by the Chippa families. The cloth is soaked in harda — myrobalan — so the mordant is already in the fibre when the block lands, and the colour sits inside the cotton rather than on it.

Bagru hand-block cotton — rows of small violet and rose floral butis on an undyed ground. — The swatch, shot flat at the same distance as the other six.
