Where it came from
Pochampally ikat
Both threads are dyed before weaving, which is why every edge feathers.
Warp and weft are tied and resist-dyed separately, then aligned on the loom so the two patterns meet. They never meet exactly, and that soft blur is how you tell a real ikat from a print.
